Compassion Ministries

Little Feats

Join us as we partner with local schools to make sure that no kids go to school in inappropriate footwear. Whether it be good walking shoes to make sure that they can get to classes in time, rain boots to make sure they are soaked by Erie’s fickle weather, or winter boots to make sure that no one gets frost bite.

What our volunteers do:

  • Receive a call from our Little Feats coordinator (Laura Palmer)
  • Go to a local shoe store where we have an account and get the shoes matching the specifications.
  • Go to the school and deliver the shoes to the student.
Erie City Mission

Do you have heart for service and do you want to make a real difference in the lives of Erie’s homeless population? Help us serve the Erie City Mission by preparing and serving meals directly to Erie’s most vulnerable population.

Our volunteers should be:

  • Willing to serve.
  • Over 16.
  • Be prepared to arrive at 9:30 and leave at 1:30 p.m.
Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. (Kairos) is a lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to prisoners and their families.

This ministry is amazing, and chases after the heart of Christ, but volunteers need to be ready for the commitment expected out of Kairos’ volunteers.

As a volunteer you should be:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Willing to attend about 36 hours of training for prior to every retreat.
  • State mandated background checks.
  • Attend additional trainings provided by the prison staff.
  • As a note, men can only minister at men’s prisons and women can only minister at women’s prisons.

Those who feel a heart to serve but cannot meet the above requirements can help by:

  • Becoming a prayer partner with Kairos.
  • Donating to Kairos.
C3 Homeless Outreach

As the temperatures begin to drop, our team is officially launching its winter supply drive to support our unhoused neighbors. We are actively gathering essential gear to help individuals stay safe and warm during the freezing months ahead. Our immediate priorities include

  • heavy winter coats
  • durable waterproof boots
  • thick thermal socks
  • insulated gloves.

Additionally, we are collecting these items to distribute directly through our outreach network:

  • blankets
  • hand warmers
  • sleeping bags

Every contribution helps protect vulnerable community members from the harsh elements this season.

If you have a donation to make, collection totes will be located in the hallway next to the information center.

Veteran’s Miracle Center Erie

Help us reach out to Erie’s Veterans by joining VMC in their local Erie chapter. Our church member’s partner with VMCE by help uninstall ramps installed at disabled veteran’s homes and installing them at other disabled veteran’s who need them but did not qualify for them. These aluminum ramps can make a huge difference in the life of veterans, or the spouses of veterans.
